Abstract: The report of the 20th National Congress of the CPC once again emphasized the promotion of the spirit of "bravery and
persistence" and the "inheritance of the excellent traditional Chinese culture". Bravery and persistence, as a vital traditional Chinese
virtue, is a fearless and positive life force presented by individuals in the origin. It contains the spiritual qualities of not afraid of
difficulties, not afraid of sacrifice, unwilling to mediocrity, unwilling to muddling along. In Chinese traditional culture, it has at least
four connotations: taking fearlessness as the primary symbol, taking reason as the internal support, taking benevolence and
righteousness as the value orientation, and taking perseverance as the code of conduct. In the new era, to carry forward the spirit of
bravery and persistence, it is necessary to take Marxist theory as the guide, adhere to the people-centered value position, follow the
practical path of taking lofty moral ideals as the basis, take broad mass strength as the basis as well as high consciousness as the
premise and give full play to the exemplary role of heroes.
